Transcribing Help: Who is this Person?

I want to research on this lodger that resided in my Great Grandmother’s home in West Virginia. This person was a High School Teacher in 1930. The transcribed page on Ancestry has the Lodger listed as:

Gamal V. Reynolds

I see something totally different.  What do you see?

  1. It would help if there were more context offered to check for supporting document is previous and consecutive Census documents. Although the first letter in the given name appears to be a “G”, the rest makes it look like “Daniel V.” There is a Daniel W. Reynolds in West Virginia…but as stated, without supporting evidence, i.e. age and location within West Virginia, it is difficult to prove.
